ORDINANCE XV-B

Maintenance of Discipline among students of the University.

  1. All powers relating to disciplinary action are vested in the Vice-Chancellor.

  2. The Vice-Chancellor may delegate all or such powers as he/she deems proper to the Proctor and to such other persons as he/she may specify in this behalf.

  3. Without prejudice to the generality of power to enforce discipline under the Ordinance,the following shall amount to acts of gross indiscipline.

    1. Physical assault, or threat to use physical force,against any member of the teaching and non-teaching staff of any Institution/Department and against any student within the University of Delhi.

    2. Carrying of, use of, threat of use of any weapon.

    3. Any violation of the status, dignity and honor of students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes.

    4. Any practise whether verbal or otherwise derogatory of women.

    5. Any attempt at bribing or corruption in any manner.

    6. Willful destructions of institutional property.

    7. Creating ill-will or intolerance on relegious or communal grounds.

    8. Causing disruption in any manner of the academic functioning of the University system.

    9. Ragging as per Ordinance XV-C.

  4. Without prejudice to the generality of his/her powers relating to the maintenance of discipline and taking such action in the interest of maintaining discipline as may seem to him/her appropriate,the Vice-Chancellor,may in the exercise of his/her power aforesaid order or direct:

    1. that any student or students be expelled ; or

    2. any student or students be, for a stated period, rusticated; or

    3. be not for a stated period admitted to a course or courses of study in the college, department or institution of the University; or

    4. be fined with a sum of rupees that may be specified; or

    5. be debarred from taking a University or College or departmental examination or examinations for one or more years ; or

    6. that the result of the student or students concerned in the examintions in which he/she or they have appeared be cancelled

ORDINANCE XV-C

Ragging - Prohibition and Punishment.

In its strictest measures to curb the menace of ragging, the Supreme Court has set punishment for it. In case of harassment either physically or mentally of freshers by seniors or any other student, Such students will be booked by the police (by registering F.I.R), expelled from the College and denied future admissions.

Committee on Sexual Harrassment.

Under the guidelines of the Supreme Court of India and the Executive Council decision to combat the social menace of sexual harassment at work place, the College constituted a committee to deal with complaints related to sexual harassment.
